Day 1 Teaching Elementary Classes

My elementary teacher had to go into Fairbanks for a couple of days and I get to teach his elementary classes. The biggest problem is that I would give them instructions, then turn to do the same for the next class, and they saw that as an opportunity to play around. It took forever to get them on task and get the work done. Art was the best--I taught them how to finger knit. Four of them finally caught on and then never wanted to stop. It did take them awhile to catch on, so I ended up with most of the time for science class eaten up. I will have to have them do their science experiment tomorrow, but with the chaos it will not work. I have got to get them to stay in their seats and listen or they will not participate. We were going to have them put a skewer through a balloon without popping it. Am I ready?? Not really. :-)
